Abstract

The global semiconductor shortage severely impacted automotive and industrial manufacturing operations, exposing the lack of real-time supply chain visibility across procurement and production systems. This paper examines how SAP S/4HANA can improve semiconductor supply chain monitoring through integrated procurement planning, inventory synchronization, supplier coordination, and material requirement visibility. The article discusses how ERP-enabled transparency can help organizations proactively identify shortages, improve forecasting accuracy, and reduce production disruptions in highly interconnected manufacturing ecosystems.
